Hydrodynamics of the cascading plasma

چکیده
The cascading gauge theory of Klebanov et.al realizes a soluble example of gauge/string correspondence in a non-conformal setting. Such a gauge theory has a strong coupling scale Λ, below which it confines with a chiral symmetry breaking. A holographic description of a strongly coupled cascading gauge theory plasma is represented by a black brane solution of type IIB supergravity on a conifold with fluxes. A characteristic parameter controlling the high temperature expansion of such plasma is Q ≃ ( ln T Λ −1 . In this paper we study the speed of sound and the bulk viscosity of the cascading gauge theory plasma to order O(Q4). We find that the bulk viscosity satisfies the bound conjectured in arXiv:0708.3459. We comment on difficulties of computing the transport coefficients to all orders in Q. Previously, it was shown that a cascading gauge theory plasma undergoes a first-order deconfinement transition with unbroken chiral symmetry at Tcritical = 0.6141111(3)Λ. We show here that a deconfined chirally symmetric phase becomes perturbatively unstable at Tunstable = 0.8749(0)Tcritical. Near the unstable point the specific heat diverges as cV ∼ |1− Tunstable T |−1/2.

In power systems, a connected topology is created to increase reliability and economic performance. Increasing dimensions of power systems on the one hand and the need to continuously monitor power systems for secure operation on the other challenge the evaluation of power system security. In such conditions, due to economic conditions and considering the fast growth of consumers in a power sys...

Based on quantum hydrodynamics theory (QHD), the propagation of nonlinear quantum dust-ion acoustic (QDIA) solitary waves in a collision-less, unmagnetized four component quantum plasma consisting of electrons, positrons, ions and stationary negatively charged dust grains with dust charge variation is investigated using reductive perturbation method. This research includes both experimental and CFD investigation in the hydrodynamic behavior of a new type of column tray introduced as “Concap” tray. The proposed column tray is used in contactor columns especially in stripping columns. The hydrodynamics of this Concap tray is investigated in a 1.2m in diameter column. Using air-water system, the experiments were performed for different liquid ...
متن کاملHarris sheet solution for magnetized quantum plasmas
We construct an infinite family of one-dimensional equilibrium solutions for purely magnetized quantum plasmas described by the quantum hydrodynamic model. The equilibria depends on the solution of a third-order ordinary differential equation, which is written in terms of two free functions. One of these free functions is associated to the magnetic field configuration, while the other is specif...

Effect of scale on the hydrodynamics of gas-solid fluidized beds was investigated in two fluidized beds of 152 mm and 78 mm in diameter. The Radioactive Particle Tracking (RPT) technique was employed to obtain the instantaneous positions of the particles at every 20 ms of the experiments. These data were u...
